Feb 17-23

It has been a crazy week!  First off, I did a little working.  One of the Hygienist's at the Dental office was out of town so I filled in for her Mon, Tues and just the morning on Wed.  It was fun to be working on patients again, but I really missed my kids!  Now that I stay home full time, it is hard to leave them for very long.  Not to mention it takes so much prep to get three people ready and out the door on time!  So glad I don't have to do that on a daily basis because I was exhausted after two and a half days!

Thursday we had a big snow storm. First one we have had all year- first on in several years actually.  We knew it was coming, so Wednesday night I made sure our Jeep had plenty of gas for Rand and headed to the store for some snow gear for Avery.  I realized that Avery has never played in snow before. Of course everyone else in town had the same Idea, so the store was crazy crowded and mostly cleared out.  We did find some cute rain boots and snow gloves though!
It snowed snowed all day Thursday.

Rand went to work for two hours and decided to head home before it got too bad.  It took him two hours to get home (it usually takes 30 minutes) and then he got stuck in the driveway!
We decided to light a fire to keep us warm while we watched the snow pile up outside.
Avery couldn't wait for the snow to stop.  She was running around in her boots all day. It is hard to say how much snow we actually got because it was windy, but we figured it was at least 8-10 inches. Avery was beyond excited to go outside.  Since we didn't have any actual "snow clothes" I put two pairs of pants, five pairs of socks and two shirts to hopefully keep her warm!
It took FOREVER to shovel all the snow, but Avery loved helping.

My birthday is today (Sunday)!  Yesterday morning we made birthday pancakes.  I saw these on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to try.  They weren't amazing, but they were pretty good.  You can't go wrong with sprinkles, glaze and whipped cream.
We finished off last night with games, dinner and cake with friends.  This picture cracks me up!  I love that Avery has cake all over her teeth and crazy hair. Gotta love the awesome birthday glasses!  Thanks for a fun night friends!

Feb 10-16

We started out the week with a Valentines Day party on Tuesday. Avery had fun playing with her friends and was very excited to get valentines from them.  She gave out Laffy Taffy valentines with some pretty funny jokes on them.  My favorite one:  What did one coffin say to the other?  That you coffin!  Ha!   Here is her half eaten loot...

On Valentines Day I got up early to make pink heart shaped pancakes for Rand and Avery.
We decided to do Heart shaped Pizza for dinner too!  I thought about doing something fancy and nice, but figured that Avery would enjoy this a lot more :)
Grandma Brown also sent Avery a cute valentine and movie.  Avery was beyond excited! She watches the Swan Princess every day and carries around that cute heart valentine constantly :)

This is the only picture of Beckett I took this week.  I can't even remember why I took it :)  He looks really comfy though...makes me want to take a nap right now!

I decided to make some baby food for Beckett this week.  I did this for Avery too- I feel like the home made stuff probably tastes better than the bottled kind. Aren't these little carrot cubes cute?!

Avery wanted me to take some pictures of her.  I told her to make some funny faces...and this is what she did
Fishy face
cheesy face

I discovered a great place here in town to get cinnamon bears!  It's about time, I know!  Anyway, I decided to cover them with chocolate for a yummy Sunday snack.

Hope you all had a fun Valentines Day!

Photo A Day Feb 2-9

Hello February!
This week has been pretty normal, not much going on at our house.
However, I did notice these beauties popping out of the dirt in my front yard on Monday!  February is way too early for my tulips and daffodils to make their appearance...but we have had a really mild winter.  I don't blame them for being confused and thinking it's go time.  They did the same thing last winter and only one plant actually bloomed in the spring- I can only assume they will do the same this year :(

"Something starting with E"
Beckett has this adorable little blue elephant.  Avery loves it.  It sits on his dresser, and Avery asks to hold it all the time.

"Hope"
I hope Avery will always be my little dancer.  She loves music and dances around the house all day.  She has some pretty sweet original moves.

"Something you smelled"
I hate doing laundry, but I LOVE how it smells! I am obsessed with Gain fabric softener.   If it wouldn't kill me, I would probably be tempted to eat it ;)

"Your Name"
I know what your are thinking... That's not how she spells her name! And you would be correct.  It looks weird with only one L right?  Unfortunately the alphabet only has one L in it...so we had to make do.  Avery plays with these magnets every day and usually makes up her own words :)

"Guilty Pleasure"
Does it get any better than gummy cinnamon candy??!!  Seriously.  February is the perfect month for a cinnamon lover like me!  Thank you valentines day candy for making my addiction that much easier to please.

I had to post this cute picture.  Beckett  likes to cross his ankles...adorable I know!  This is what he does while I fold laundry.

That is it for this week!

Photo a Day 3

I was hoping to post before the super bowl, but that didn't happen.
Anyway, here is our happenings from this week.

I find myself doing multiple loads of laundry for the kids every week.  This picture is of Avery and Beckett's clothes only after a few days.  Beckett poops at least once a day on his clothes (I'm still trying to find the perfect diaper for him) and Avery has an occasional poop accident as well (that's another story...). There is a lot of clothes changing going on every day.  If my kids would quit pooping and/or barfing on their clothes, my life would be a lot easier!

I let Avery get a little play makeup kit the other day.  Rand thinks it was the biggest mistake ever!  She loves it!  I had to take a few pictures of her putting on her make up like her mom. She looks pretty great in her pink lip gloss and blue eye shadow!

Avery is really into purses right now.  Or I should say...anything that she can stash her toys in :)  She loves putting her little treasures in what ever she can carry around.  Here are only a few of the bags I found the other day.  Looking at this picture makes me feel like we need to get rid of some toys!  Am I the only one that HATES small toys?  I feel like they are everywhere and I am always stepping on them!

February 1st. was  Heart Awareness Day.  To show our support we wore red!  Well, we did for at least an hour or two until Beckett pooped on his clothes... but we tried! Actually the month of February is heart month- I wasn't even aware of this until Avery was born.  Now it has a whole new meaning to us.  I encourage you all to wear red this month for Avery or to just support those that have congenital heart defects :)

Now that it is a new month, hopefully I will be posting more "themed" pictures.
"Fork"
Avery likes to use real forks.  Not her little plastic ones.  She still has a hard time feeding herself, but seems to do better with a "real" fork :)

"Pattern"

I LOVE patterns.  I feel like I don't have enough of it in my house.  I also have a small obsession with this quatrefoil pattern.  I would probably put it in every room if I could!  For now it is just in the form of pillows in my living room and bedroom :)

And just because I feel like it, here is a cute picture of Beckett
